I'm coming off a nice, relaxing visit with the family in Atlanta...and a very nice long run in the woods. :-)
Upon arriving in Atlanta on Friday AM, my older sister picked me up and we headed straight out to the Silver Comet Trail to knock out my 9 mile long run for the weekend. She biked while I ran, and she came back out and ran the last 1.5 miles with me. All in all, it was a decent run...a confidence builder, for sure....I ran mile 6 in 9:31! :-) The weather was perfect - mostly cloudy, and about 75 degrees. I even got a little drizzle to keep me cool! Also, the people in Georgia!!! Special thanks to the older gentleman along the route who cheered me on with a clap, smile and cheer!!! Love you!!! So many "good morning's." Wow. What a crowd. Makes it so much better and more cheerful.
Let's see if I can pick up the pace this weekend with my 10 miler near home. I think I'll run the Mount Vernon Trail and back Saturday AM....
I definitely was not following any sort of diet while at home...I was eating up a storm...and mostly things not necessarily all that great for me...but hey! I was at my mama's! I gotta eat her goodies, right?!?!
And anyway, my birthday is coming up and we were celebrating. I had to eat a Publix cupcake and ice cream!!
If you follow me on Instagram (kgilbert730), you know that my Oiselle Flock singlet arrived last week...I was so excited to wear it, so I took it out for Friday AM's run. :-)
|I'm so fast, I'm blurry - see??|
This week, we will see about getting back on track with my diet/nutrition. Having been out of town this weekend, I haven't made my weekly grocery visit, better get on that.... I have a few easy mid-week runs, and then my long run, Saturday. My training partner is out of town, so I'll be on my own.
Alrighty - week 4 and under 99 days to go!!
