Introducing: My Best Friend

So, as I mentioned in my very first post...I have this weimaraner, named Chloe.

Chloe is newly 10 years old (she turned 10 in February - with a fabulous party, of course).  I got her as a tiny little thing and we have been through LOTS together!!  Weimaraners as a breed, are known to be quite energetic and a bit high strung -often having issues with separation anxiety.  When I picked Chloe out of the litter to bring home, she was the one and only puppy that was just sitting off by herself, quite politely observing her silly brothers and sisters.  I knew that was the one I wanted!  She certainly is attached to me and is always finding ways to point out when she feels she's been not getting enough attention at home... :-)

As I have mentioned before, I was previously married.  I got Chloe with my ex husband, and always joke that she's the best thing that came out of that marriage.  When it was time for us to move on, there was no doubt that puppy was coming with me!  We have moved MANY times together, bless her little heart.  She puts up with so much...

But she's also SPOILED rotten for it!!

"This IS MY bed, right??"

In the winter, it's quite the scene to see me trying to get her out of her hoodie so I can wash it!!
She is literally like my child.  We arrange our lives around that 80 pound ball of goodness!  She is terrible on a leash, leaves kibbles of food all over the house, gets grumpy and barks at absolutely nothing, and loves us more than you can even imagine.

In her old age, she's gotten quite old lady like.  It's really funny to us.  But every once in a while, she will act like she's 2 years old again and be so peppy and rambunctious and excitable.  Mostly, though, she just likes to sleep...snuggling with me and Blake..and upon occasion getting in some trouble!

What about you?  Do you have any fur babies?
